Experienced HVAC installers know that great work depends on more than technical skill. It takes the right equipment, accurate job information, strong warehouse and office support, and a company that recognizes the value of efficient, high-quality installations.

At Jones Services, we’re looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer who takes ownership of each project, leads by example, and wants to be rewarded for strong performance. You’ll manage residential installation jobs from start to finish, guide apprentices and helpers, and work with a team committed to giving you the support and resources needed to do the job right.

Jones Services is one of the Hudson Valley’s leading HVAC, plumbing, and electrical employers. We invest in our people through ongoing training, clear opportunities for advancement, and a workplace where skilled professionals can continue growing their technical ability and earning potential.

  • Complete ductwork modifications, refrigerant piping, drainage, venting, gas piping, wiring, and related system connections.

  • Review job details and identify equipment, material, or scope concerns before and during installation.

  • Direct, train, and support apprentices and installation helpers.

  • Perform equipment startups, charging, airflow verification, testing, and commissioning.

  • Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure work meets applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.

  • Protect customers’ homes and maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.

  • Explain system operation, maintenance expectations, and warranty information to homeowners.

  • Complete accurate job documentation, equipment records, and required photos.

  • Coordinate with sales, service, dispatch, warehouse, and operations teams.

  • Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, equipment, materials, and inventory.

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience leading residential HVAC replacement and installation projects.

  • Ability to independently complete HVAC installations from start to finish.

  • Strong knowledge of furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, mini-splits, ductwork, refrigeration, airflow, venting, and system commissioning.

  • Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and jobsite problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to train, coach, and direct apprentices or installation helpers.

  • Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and code compliance.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • EPA Universal Certification required.

  • Applicable trade licenses or certifications preferred.

  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and field service software.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to perform physical work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor conditions.
